#2: The Land of Twilight
First Impressions
Forks, Washington, feels like stepping into another world. The drive in is lined with towering evergreens, their tops disappearing into mist, and the air feels damp and alive. Rain tapped gently against the windshield, and I couldn’t help but think how perfectly cinematic it all looked. No wonder Twilight chose this place it carries a moody magic that feels like it belongs in a story.
The Cabin Stay
I stayed in a little cabin tucked away in the trees, and it felt like something out of a fairytale. The outside was simple, almost hidden by the forest, but stepping inside felt warm and safe. There was this coziness that came from hearing the rain on the roof and knowing nothing but trees surrounded me. At night, it was completely quiet except for the wind in the branches, and I remember thinking how rare that kind of stillness is. Waking up, opening the door, and seeing nothing but green stretching out in every direction made me feel like I was living in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
Twilight Twist
Of course, we couldn’t resist driving into town to see “Bella’s house.” It was surreal to stand outside a place that looks so ordinary, yet carries so much weight for fans of the films. Forks embraces its Twilight fame without overdoing it little signs, nods here and there enough to make you smile without it feeling forced.
La Push Beach
La Push was the moment where nature really hit me. The beach feels wild and untouched: giant driftwood logs piled along the shore, dark waves crashing endlessly, and rocks jutting out of the sea like ancient guardians. Standing there, with the ocean in front of me and the dense forest behind me, I felt both small and grounded at the same time. It’s raw, moody, and breathtaking in a way you can’t capture in photos.
Hoh Rain Forest
Not far from Forks is the Hoh Rain Forest, and it honestly felt like stepping into another planet. Moss covered every branch, ferns blanketed the ground, and the air was thick with the smell of earth and rain. Walking the trails, it felt almost sacred like nature here had been left completely untouched.
Takeaway
Forks is more than a Twilight town, it’s a place where nature feels alive in every direction. Between the cozy cabin, the iconic film spots, the wild beauty of La Push, and the otherworldly Hoh Rain Forest, it’s a trip that stays with you.
